Recently, in one of our sessions, a husband shared that he was “waiting for the right moment,” to offer a heartfelt apology to his wife for forgetting her birthday. It caused us to pause and reflect on the concept of waiting for the right moment as though time is an endless continuum, and we can just wait…. Was it his ambivalence about sharing and being vulnerable? Wouldn’t the apology create the outcome? Sometimes in life, we feel that we have forever to share a sentiment, but we know if you put something off, you may never get the opportunity to share. Do not wait. If you have something meaningful to share, the “right moment” is now. It is up to each one of us to create the moment.
